Prenatal Breastfeeding Preparation

  • Breastfeeding shouldn't hurt.

Many new mothers experience discomfort, but pain isn't a normal part of breastfeeding. Proper latch techniques and positioning can make a significant difference. If you're in pain, it's essential to seek support early to ensure both you and your baby are comfortable.

  • Preparation increases breastfeeding success.

Studies have shown that prenatal breastfeeding education can enhance mothers' confidence and increase the likelihood of successful breastfeeding.

  • It's okay to ask for help.

Breastfeeding can be challenging, and it's okay to seek assistance. Whether it's a lactation counselor, a breastfeeding support group, or a trusted friend, reaching out can provide the encouragement and guidance you need.

  • The bond is beautiful.

Breastfeeding isn't just about nourishment; it's a profound bonding experience. The closeness and skin-to-skin contact foster a deep connection between mother and baby, promoting emotional well-being for both.

About Me

I’m Anna Latham, a US-registered nurse, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, and doula. I support families both online and in person in the Eindhoven region of the Netherlands, and I’ve had the privilege of living and working in the US, Vietnam, and the Netherlands.

Over the past decade, I’ve supported many pregnant women and families as they’ve navigated the transition into parenthood. Along the way, I developed my own childbirth preparation curriculum, rooted in science and evidence. It takes a “big picture” look at what happens during labor and birth, then zooms in on each stage so you can focus on the most effective tools and techniques for that moment.

My goal is to help you feel informed, confident, and supported so you can welcome your baby with clarity and trust in yourself.
